Officially / Inter announces their separation from coach Antonio Conte

He led the team to the league title after an absence of 11 years .. Inter Milan announces the departure of Antonio Conte. Coach Antonio Conte terminates his contract with Inter Milan on Wednesday, a year before his end, days after the club crowned the Italian Football League title for the first time in 11 years.

Conte leaving Inter

Conte, who joined Inter in May 2019, decided to leave after Italian media reported that he was upset with the club's plans to cut investment and cut spending due to the financial fallout from the Covid-19 epidemic.

"Inter Milan can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Antonio Conte to terminate the contract by mutual consent," the club said in a statement.

"The club would like to thank Antonio for his amazing work and for leading Inter to the 19th title in the First Division, and Antonio Conte will forever be a part of our club's history," he added.

The 51-year-old coach's ambition to improve the squad went against the club's financial situation, as Inter is looking to cut salaries by between 15 and 20 percent and benefit between 70 and 100 million euros from selling players next season.

Sky Italia reported that Conte was not convinced of the plans, which included selling a prominent player. The club will pay about 7 million euros ($ 8.53 million) as a coach's end-of-service reward.

Conte's successor

Italian media have speculated that Conte's successor may be former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri or Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi.

Inter struck heavy deals with stars such as Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen, and Ashraf Hakimi during Conte's tenure, and these contracts helped achieve great success for the club.

Conte played an impressive season with Inter at the domestic level, crowned the league title four rounds before the end of the season, and amassed 91 points in the club's second-biggest balance in its history, after collecting 97 points in the 2006-2007 season.

Inter had not achieved a place higher than fourth in the eight years before Conte's arrival.

Conte left an immediate imprint, leading Inter to second place in the domestic league and European League in its first season.

The results of the 2020-2021 season were better after it ended Juventus' domestic dominance in nine years in the league.

Interclub celebrated its "3000 matches" in the Italian first division, after its last confrontation with Udinese, which ended with the victory of Moroccan comrades, Ashraf Hakimi, with five goals to one, for the final round of the "Serie A".

"The Nerazzurri is the only team that has not been relegated to the second division, and therefore it is the only team that has this number in the Serie A," the Italian champions wrote in a tweet on his official account on Twitter.

Inter's celebrations come with its number in this way, to send an "indirect" message to its domestic rivals, especially Juventus, the title holder for nine consecutive years, who had previously descended into the "Serie B" due to the scandal in 2006.

It is reported that Inter finished the season as champions of the Italian League with 91 points, with remarkable brilliance to Moroccan international Ashraf Hakimi, and his contribution to 15 goals in the "Nerazzurri" shirt in the competition (7 goals and 8 assists).
